Sean and I love many things and one of the things at the top of that list is our love for food. We love finding and trying new restaurants. This month we got to try a few new restaurants and I’ll be sharing those with you today!
Happy Elephant Vegan
We went to Happy Elephant Vegan located in Long Beach. It’s a Thai and Japanese plant based restaurant. We were in Long Beach and I Yelped for some places around the area to eat and saw they had sushi, which I was beyond excited to try! Sean got the Spicy Basil Noodles with tofu and I got the Deep Ocean Roll. We also shared some tempura. I thought it was amazing. The sushi was delicious. Right before we were getting ready to leave, the waitress told us about their lunch special. She said that any entree you order is unlimited; so I’ll be going back for unlimited sushi. Overall, we both enjoyed this place and will definitely be back!
Vegan Nirvana
Another restaurant we tried this month was Vegan Nirvana located in Huntington Beach. We met up with my cousins and tried this place. I got Ultimate Liberation (fish-free tacos), Sean got Heaven on Earth (chicken-free tenders), and my cousins got Deep Sea Meditation (shrimp-free stir fry) and Kingdom of God (tofu stir fry). I enjoyed my tacos and Sean enjoyed his tenders, but we both tried my cousins food and enjoy theirs much more. Next time we go (and there will be a next time), I think we will try another dish.
Stuff I Eat
The last restaurant we tried was Stuff I Eat in Inglewood. When Sean and I were in Northern California earlier this year, we went to a restaurant called Souly Vegan, which has vegan soul food. We had been craving that so I googled vegan soul food places in Southern California and found this one. It took us over an hour to get there but it was definitely worth it! We shared the Organic Soul Food Platter and the Enchilada Pie. It was a lot of food and we ended up taking most of the Enchilada Pie home and ate it later. Sean’s favorite was the black eyed peas and mine was a toss up between the kale greens or the mac and cheese.
If you’re ever in Southern California and looking for a good restaurant to try, we definitely recommend all of these!
Oh goodness, it all looks so good! Wish I loved in the states (or had a passport) so I could try these!
I live close by your first two restaurants and have never been. I need to add these to my “must eat there” list, the food looks amazing!
Wow all this looks so yummy, I have never tried an all vegan restaurant! I would like to be one, but its a hard journey to transition too, working on eating more healthy for sure!
